The PRISE International Research Foundation was established in Hungary in 2023 by its founder, Professor Ferenc Friedler, acting on behalf of the Klemeš family. Building on the legacy of Professor Jiří Jaromír Klemeš, it safeguards the name, heritage and development of the PRES conference series. Its mission is to advance and preserve knowledge in resource efficiency, environmental safety and sustainability. PRISE organises the annual PRES conferences, fosters scientific excellence and international cooperation, develops new communication and knowledge platforms, and recognises outstanding contributions through awards.
The Foundation is governed by an international Board chaired by Professor Petar Sabev Varbanov. Its members are Dr Yee Van Fan, Professor Raymond R. Tan, Professor Panos Seferlis, Professor Rozália Lakner and Jiří Klemeš, son of the PRES founder. Representing institutions across Europe and Asia, the Board combines international scientific leadership with continuity of the Klemeš family’s connection to PRES.
